Ratas De Dos Patas

Ratas De Dos Patas are a Chicago based award winning all Latine sketch comedy and improv ensemble. Originally founded by Kendra Jamaica, Marilet Martinez, Abigail Piñon, and Jessi Realz to bring Latina representation to the forefront of comedy, Ratas has evolved to an intersectional collective that uplifts underrepresented artists. Ratas curates experiences that challenge the hetero cis patriarchy while using humor to uplift the Latine community and other systemically oppressed voices. Named after the iconic feminist anthem by Paquita La Del Barrio, which translates to “rats on two feet”, we believe laughter is an equalizing force. When we see ourselves represented authentically in our vulnerability, humanity, and humor, we can remove barriers and positively impact social change.

Ratas de Dos Patas have been featured in Telemundo Chicago, the Chicago Tribune, TimeOut Chicago, and won ALTA’s 2019 Outstanding Improv Ensemble. Ratas have had 6 successful runs at the Annoyance Theatre, have been featured acts in comedy festivals across the country, successfully sold out Día De Los Muertos shows for three years, and produced a short film. Ratas continues to break barriers and expectations by delivering one of a kind shows.

Ratas de Dos Patas brings the heat with Ratas en Fuego! Happening quarterly at LSI, las Ratas test the machismo of some of their beloved homeboys through high stakes games for a chance to win the title of Rata Inmunda! Ratas en Fuego will feature hot local Chicago talent, short-form improv competitions, classic Ratas comedy, and each night ends in puro pinche pari! Join your local neighborhood Ratas and burn down the patriarchy one Ja Ja at a time!
Ratas Gigantes

Ratas de Dos Patas proudly presents “Ratas Gigante!” Taking inspiration from the long running Latine show “Sabado Gigante” which was a mix of games, contests, and musical entertainment; Ratas reimagines this classic show and turns it upside down by making it intersectional, feminist, and queer. “Ratas Gigante!” is filled with sketch, improv, audience participation, and, of course, amazing commercials all seen live. Ratas will take the audience on an incredible Gigante experience packed with laughter and nostalgic joy.
